Get Up, Wake Up

Essential Oils to Help Boost Energy, Focus & Motivation

Do you find it hard to get up in the mornings? Or to keep focused at work or during study? Maybe, like so many of us, you rely heavily on coffee to get you up and out the door in the morning.

Did you know essential oils can be a very handy tool to combat fatigue and lack of focus not only in the mornings, but any time during the day/night?

"There are close to 100 commonly used essential oils, each associated with certain health claims, including focus, motivation, and energy enhancement."

The five main essential oils (backed by research) for energy and fatigue relief are:

  • Peppermint

  • Sweet orange

  • Spearmint

  • Rosemary

  • Lemon

These have been shown in studies to help improve exercise/athletic performance, fight fatigue, and even help your memory.

Many other essential oils are claimed to help boost energy, mood and creativity such as:

  • Bergamot (energising)

  • Cinnamon (boosts energy)

  • Eucalyptus (stimulates the brain and improves energy)

  • Frankincense (balance the nervous system)

  • French basil (stimulates the adrenal glands)

  • Ginger root (energising)

  • Grapefruit (boosts energy)

  • Juniper berry (improves energy levels)

  • Lime (uplifts mood or motivates creativity)

  • Lemongrass (invigorates senses)

  • Pine (provides a boost of energy)

  • Thyme (increases energy and boosts spirits)

  • Wild orange (lifts mood)

The best way to get the benefits of these oils are to inhale either straight from the bottle or in a diffuser, or diluted with a carrier oil and massaged into the skin (temples are a great spot).
