Happy Valentines Day lovers!

I've been hearing a lot already this year that people are wanting to rid themselves of toxic relationships this year, and to that I say HELL YES!
So in the spirit of Valentines Day and dumping toxic relationships in our lives, why don't we ditch the toxic chemicals that we're putting into our bodies in the form of lubricants and massage oils.
You may have never thought about it, but lubricants have an array of toxic crap in them and we're actually putting this INTO our body and onto our most private and sensitive areas. Common lubricants contain toxic ingredients like parabens which are massive endocrine disruptors and cannot be properly metabolised or eliminated from our bodies (and have been found inside breast tumour cells) Then there is glycerine which can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and even excessive thirst. Now, hands up which of you women get yeast infections? Well this could be why, lubes also contain propylene glycol, known to be a skin irritant along with chlorhexidine gluconate, an antibacterial that kills off healthy vaginal bacteria, messing up your pH balance and making you more susceptible to infections. Finally to top it off, most lubes contain petroleum (keyword - PETROL) which can also alter your pH and contribute to nasty infections.
What about massage oils? These can also be just as toxic!
The biggest red flag is parabens - which are a group of chemicals that can be used as preservatives in cosmetics and so many other products. Some research studies have reported that exposure to parabens in personal care products may stimulate the growth of cancer cells, and play a massive role in disrupting your endocrine system.
In addition, phthalates are included in many household and beauty products to make products keep their smell, but can also play a dangerous role in disrupting our endocrine system. And then there's triclosan and benzophenone-3 (BP-3) which have also shown to disrupt endocrine activity, so please at least start checking your labels when you're buying things to put in and on your body.. no doubt your body will love you for it!
Feel like switching it up and trying a natural, low tox lubricant or massage oil? I've got you covered!
Sexy Balm is one of my favourite products and has a permanent place in our bedroom ;)
It doubles as a massage oil AND a personal lubricant.
It's a bit different to your normal store bought lubricants, as it is oil based it does tend to stay on the skin and not wash off as easily, but trust me, your privates will appreciate it when you're looking after them and protecting them from infections and potential harm.
The Sexy Balm is enriched with ylang ylang, patchouli, sandalwood, lavender, cypress and nutmeg essential oils which are known to get the senses tingling and get you in the mood for some bedroom play time.
So, go forth and love hard, with your pleasure and safety in mind! xo
